Aloha e 'Ohana!
It has been an absolute honor to tend 'aina, learn, grow & create this space of a humble medicine garden. Thank you to the Kilauea Ag Park AHK for supporting small farmers, as we lease land here to work towards our farming dreams.
Our Wild Ways Farm nestled here in Kilauea, a few minutes from the Kahili river mouth, & heading up to the lighthouse, was started as soon as our farm creator & steward Madison gave birth to her son. In a way they were both birthed in the same energy. Wild ways as a business entity had been established years prior, but became an LLC in that same month her first son was born. She opened her farm and tilled her garden beds in that same month, and began planting at the only time she had available, at night while her baby slept, under the moon light. She started all her plant starts at her home nursery & tended them daily. Her son grew and they spent time in this garden. He picked a lot of the herbs & enjoyed eating them. He got his first bee sting. He smelled flowers and helped mama weed, plant, harvest & work. She carried him on her back as she mulched & hula hoed. The establishment of this farm garden is more than just an herb & tea farm business, it's a healing space to offer nourishment, support, education, peace, and growth. Madison is endlessly grateful for her time there with her son, and looks forward to all the ways this space & garden can be shared with others.
We currently have a primary farm manager overseeing our Kaua'i operation, & a handful of other sister friends that help as needed.
We continue moving towards creating a beautiful, diverse, garden with Mamaki & Lokelani Rose being our focal crops, but grow over 40 other medicinal botanicals such as blue butterfly pea flowers, mints, yarrow, rosemary, thyme, lemon balm, cranberry hibiscus, patchouli, & tons more!
